The conference will take place at the Palais du Pharo, including the historic main building.

From the Vieux-Port (subway station)

  • By public transport (RTM):

Take bus 83 (toward Métro Rond-Point du Prado) or bus 82 – 82S (toward Pharo/Catalans) and get off at the 4th stop, Le Pharo. The journey takes approximately 7 minutes.

  • By foot:

Walk along the left (southern) side of the Vieux-Port, following the waterfront, and continue to the Palais du Pharo. The walk takes approximately 18 minutes.

 

From the Saint-Charles train station

  • By public transport (RTM):

Head to the subway station below the train station and take Metro Line M1 (blue line) toward La Fourragère. Get off at the Vieux-Port stop. From there, follow the directions above for public transport to the Palais du Pharo. The total journey time is around 20 minutes.

 

From the Marseille Provence (Marignane) airport

  • By public transport:

Take the L91 airport shuttle to Saint-Charles train station. The trip takes approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
From Saint-Charles, follow the directions above to reach the Palais du Pharo by public transport.

  • By Train: Marseille is well-connected by the French TGV (high-speed train) network, with frequent services from major European cities to Marseille Saint-Charles train station.
  • By Plane: Marseille Provence airport offers a wide range of flights, providing direct connections to numerous major cities worldwide.

It has come to our attention that some participants have received emails from external travel agencies offering to arrange accommodations for the EPS-HEP 2025 conference.

Please be aware that the EPS-HEP 2025 organizers are not affiliated with any travel or accommodation agencies.We have not authorized any third parties to book hotels on behalf of the conference.

We strongly advise participants to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements using reputable sources. If you receive unsolicited emails offering accommodation bookings, please exercise caution and verify their legitimacy before sharing any personal or payment information.

For accommodation, a variety of options are available, as highlighted on the tourism office webpage.

You can choose from hotels ranging from 2-star to 5-star ratings or opt for apartment rentals to suit your preferences and budget.

Practical information (on-site)

The EPS-HEP 2025 conference is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all participants. To support this goal, we are pleased to offer the following services:

  • Accessibility: The conference venue, the Palais du Pharo, is fully accessible to participants using wheelchairs, ensuring ease of movement throughout the facilities.
  • Live Captioning: To enhance accessibility, live captioning will be provided through the webcast for all plenary sessions.
  • Financial Support: Limited funding is available to support the participation of scientists who may require financial assistance, particularly those from developing countries. If you are interested in applying for this support, please contact the Local Organising Committee at eps-hep2025-info-l@in2p3.fr.
  • Childcare Services: To support participants attending with their families, an on-site childcare service will be available throughout the conference. This service allows participants to fully attend sessions while ensuring a safe and suitable environment for their children.
    • Hours: Every day of the conference, from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM (including a lunch break)
    • Age Range: Available for children aged 4 to 15 years
    • Supervision: Two childcare professionals for every 15 children
    • Languages Spoken: The caregivers speak English
    • Meals: Lunch is included in this option
    • Booking: The service can be reserved during the registration process

We are dedicated to ensuring that everyone can participate in and benefit from the conference. If you have specific needs or suggestions to further enhance inclusiveness, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Local Organising Committee.

Coffee Breaks
Morning and afternoon coffee breaks will be provided to keep you refreshed throughout the conference.

Lunch Options
For convenience, lunch boxes can be pre-ordered at €20/day during fee payment, allowing for a quick and easy meal on site. We recommend for participants to consider this option in case they plan to follow both the late morning and early afternoon session.

Alternatively, you can explore nearby lunch options, including restaurants around the Vieux-Port or Cours Honoré d’Estienne-d’Orves , accessible within 20 to 30 minutes on foot or by bus from the Palais du Pharo.

Conference Dinner
The conference dinner will take place on Thursday, July 10th, at the historic Palais de la Bourse , located next to the Vieux-Port. Reservations for this special event can be made during fee payment for €70.

A local Wi-Fi network will be available for a limited number of participants. For those with phone contracts that include EU roaming, we recommend using a personal mobile hotspot for seamless connectivity.

The conference center offers excellent mobile phone coverage, including in the underground auditoriums.

The closest cash machine to the conference center is located at 30 avenue Pasteur, just a 7-minute walk from the Palais du Pharo.

Most establishments, including restaurants and shops, accept credit cards and online payment systems, in addition to cash.

In restaurants, prices include both tax and service, so tipping is optional.

Please note:

  • Marseille public transport ticket vending machines accept credit cards,
  • For added convenience, you can pay for your trip via contactless credit card at most bus, tramway, and subway entrances using the designated machines:

Within Marseille public transport, if you prefer to buy your ticket directly from the bus driver, then cash is required.

Whether you’re interested in museums, Mediterranean cuisine, historic landmarks, or simply strolling along the Vieux-Port, Marseille has something to offer every visitor.

Quick visits:

  • Notre Dame de la garde: A 45-minute uphill walk from the Vieux-Port rewards you with stunning panoramic views of the city and the Frioul Islands. Alternatively, take bus 60, which goes directly to the church. It is also possible to use the “little tourist train“.
  • Mucem (Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations): Located near the Vieux-Port, Mucem is accessible by bus 82 or via a scenic 45-minute walk from the Palais du Pharo, keeping the sea on your left as you circle the port.
  • Le Panier District: Explore Marseille’s oldest neighborhood, known for its charming narrow streets, colorful street art, inviting café terraces, and unique designer shops. You can reach Le Panier by bus 82 (followed by a short uphill walk) or by a 45-minute walk from the Palais du Pharo.
  • Plage des Catalans: If you’re looking for a quick swim in the sea, head to the Plage des Catalans, just a 10-minute walk from the Palais du Pharo.
